Don't get me wrong, I understand why people do it, but it just makes it more difficult to kids to learn to use apostrophes properly.

I was aware that strictly speaking the use of the apostrophe was wrong. But writing mes, yous, hes, shes, wes, etc. looks ambiguous.
E.g., when you says how many A grades you get: "I got 3 As" would be the correct way to write it. But people tend to write A's to avoid confusion.
