    Having difficulty with a couple letters.

    This diphthong has been giving me many a good problem. If you could tell me how to pronounce ей that would be just lovely!

    Remember it's: ей

    It's just like Yay! in AmE. Rhymes with say, hey, day.

    Those two letters represent a sequence of three phonemes, written /jej/. That makes it not a diphthong.

    Ей requires firm pronounciation. If you know how to pronounce е and й separately, then it will be easy fpr you to learn how to pronounce ей. You just pronounce е and then - й at the end.

    just remember,

    е = ye/je
    й = y/j

    so therefore:

    ей = yey(yay)/jej

    the wonderful thing about the russian alphabet is that a letter pretty much ALWAYS makes the same consistent sound. not like how in english one letter can be like a billion different sounds.

    so basically, in Russian, the word is propably pronounced exactly how it is spelled.
    Иисус жил того, чтобы любить вас, а умер, чтобы спасти вас.

    wo yao nan peng you.
