1st day vowel pronouncation questions
On MasterRussian's vowel pronouncation page, I'm not clear on a couple of points.
On the second page, the pronouncation of И is described as "И as in meet". However, the summary chart at the bottom says И is "e as in pet". Which is it?
I'm also unclear on the difference between Я and Ё. The latter is described as the "yo in yonder", but I pronounce yonder as "yahn-der", which would sound exactly identical to Я. Maybe I pronounce "yonder" differently than the author because I'm from the deep south :)
Any clarification would be appreciated.

И is "ee" as in meet - correct
И is e as in pet - WRONG!

Is peet even a word?
