Independence Day. It is the day the Russian Federation signed the declaration of sovereignty.
Oh right. Cool!!!
Isn't Babushka grandmother?
I remember that girl I know who is Russian yelling Babuyla! into my ear and her cousin yells Babushka! into the other.
Call to a hardware store: "I'm sure you know more about the caulk than I do...tell me...is there a taste to the caulk?".
Yes, Babushka is grandmother. Why were you being yelled at??
I wasn't being yelled at, the girls were yelling for their grandma to give them five more dollars so we could order pizza from Papa Johns. This was on a sunday a couple weeks ago.
Call to a hardware store: "I'm sure you know more about the caulk than I do...tell me...is there a taste to the caulk?".
Oh right!!! LOL
BABUYLYA!!!! GDYE TYI!!! BABULLLLL!!!
Call to a hardware store: "I'm sure you know more about the caulk than I do...tell me...is there a taste to the caulk?".
So June 12th is now an official national holiday? Are people going to get a day off work?
Свет
С утра запутается в шторах и цветах,
Которые ты забываешь поливать.
Тебя не радуют весна и пение птах,
Ведь снова ты должна любовь свою порвать,
Ведь снова ты должна...

The warsaw pact or something...Whom did we became independent from?
Вот это да, я так люблю себя. И сегодня я люблю себя, ещё больше чем вчера, а завтра я буду любить себя to ещё больше чем сегодня. Тем что происходит,я вполне доволен!
I'd just be happy to get a day off And plus *every* country has to have an independence day!
When did Russia become independent? When the USSR broke up or is this something recent? What was the Warsaw pact

Former Russian President Boris Yeltsin initiated the holiday in 1994 to commemorate the Russian parliament's declaration of sovereignty from the Soviet Union on June 12, 1990.
Originally known as Independence Day, the holiday was later renamed and transformed into a celebration of Russia itself and the unity of the huge country.
Cribbed from a Chinese website!
Official version was that Russia became independent from Soviet Union... Sounds ridiculous. Russian state exists since 9th century, Kievan Rus, Moscovy, Russia, Russian Empire, Soviet Russia, Soviet Union and Russian Federation are only different forms of this state... So, to become independent from our own state, from ourselves... it's very funny I think it's right that it was recently renamed to "Day of Russia". At least it's day off and every country have something like that...Originally Posted by astarz41

Где моя бабуль?????!!!!
Call to a hardware store: "I'm sure you know more about the caulk than I do...tell me...is there a taste to the caulk?".
Да, бабуля, как не стыдно кидать родного внука на произвол судьбы!
"Happy new year, happy new year
May we all have a vision now and then
Of a world where every neighbour is a friend"
It's not ridiculous. If "Russia" and "Soviet Union" are considered to be different states, it may be logical. But if Yeltsin politics were more consistent here, he should also declare total indendence from old Soviet'sOriginally Posted by Alex_Ivanov
responsibilities and debts. This should be much more wise thing to do.
