I have a question about the article. I can’t get who really controls and funds Strelkov and Co? His army seems to be very nicely equipped and ready to conduct a rather serious warfare on its own. Thoughts.

According to the author of the article Strelkov's army was organized, equipped and funded by Putin (either directly or indirectly), but now the control is lost.

How that might have occurred? These guys do not have any problems with any kind of supply and they appear to have obtained even more sophisticated “heavier arms” lately.
The statement sounds unbelievable.

And then, how Akhmetov might decide to dare challenge Putin's "undercover" army if he knows who's who in Donbass? It also sounds very implausible, IMHO.
