unfrotunatelyor fortunately there haven't been many sucesses, their leader Edward Limonoff, once a writer, is locked up in jail, there was a trial recently and he got sentenced to dont remember how many years for stocking up on guns, imho this trial marks the beginning of a comback of totalitarism in Russia cuz the charges against Limonoff were very far fetched and basically he was put in jail just because his political views are very different from those of the official Kremlin. His followers are mostly young punk marginals who wear black leather clothes, do graffiti on the walls and put on stupid shows, like I was once at this liberal church and the service was underway, people were standing in the audience with their hands raised (I was standing at the back looking on) and a band was playing praising hymns on stage, then in walked two guys in back leather and with bleached hair, first they giggled, saying to each other in hushed voices,"no you go first cmonn, ha ha, chicken you go first" then finally one of them shouted,"your god is dead, go home," and the other shouted something like,"the country needs a revolution and not brainwashing" after that they ran out

Isn't a nationalist political movement based on Bolshevism, which is internationalist, sort of a contradiction in terms?

and who cares abt contradictions of terms, today's russian national bolsheviks are basically marginal punks, they call themselves bolsheviks because they are against the modern capitalist society and the way it's run, also they're against the idea that this capitalist society can be changed in a pieceful manner, they're talking revolutions, and I dont think those who are younger among them will mind if you add matrix in front of revolutions. At the same time they're national because they're against the jews that have been conspiring agains mother russia for far too long so it's high time they were given the boot out of here (see the antisemitism thread for more details) and against the "blackbuts" (т.н. черножопые), which refers to people that come from the southern regions of Russia and former USSR, have a darker complexion and operate some of the markets in Moscow, so these need to be driven out as well. And of course they're against the corrupted government and the oligarchs who are the real people that call the shots in this country and their puppet of a president. I may have left out something, there's probably more things they're against.

Natzional-bolshevik party of Russia (NBP, NBPR) is rather marginal organization. It's founded somewhere in 95-96 by Eduard Limonov (very scandalous writer of some politically-pornographical books ). Their ideology is some kind of mixture between stalinism and nazism (two Limonov's most beloved ideologies of all times); even the party symbol is the nazi-like banner (red, with white circle) but with black sicke&hammer instead of black swastika. Neat, isn't it... The party never had seriuos number of supporters, neither had serious funding, as I know. But they always tryed to produce as much noise as possible, and were fund of scandalous public actions. I remember something about raising Soviet flag above some administrative building in Latvia, by local activists of NBPR. For several years the "Limonka" newpaper was published (I bought 2-3 of issues)... AFAIK, Party headquarters were in basement of some building near Frunzenskaya naberezhnaya, and they several times were foced out (unsuccessfully), because never paid rent...
For now, Limonov is in jail (there were several hand grenades found in his flat by investigator). The party itself seems to be alive, but not very active. I tried to find something in Internet, but found only this:

    http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/Em ... 9/152.html

    - some site of "Limonka" paper, which don't look very fresh

But anyway, I hope they are alive.
