The cold war to go on. USA is ranked with terrorists.
For those who adhere the idea that Ronald Reagan won the Cold War by one simple move, that is, to procude so much weapon that the USSR would not be able to compete and finally collapse, Russian militaries headed by a KGB officer Putin have prepared their own answer.
In the new military doctrine, that the Russian government is going to introduce, Russia will be able to intervene in local frontier conflicts, close their eyes on preliforation of nuclear weapons and struggle against their three probable enemies the USA, NATO and terrorists.

The Cold War was over at the times of Gorbatchev and Eltsin. I mean that cold war which was a continuation of the WW2.
On the other hands, nuclear weapons make wars between "Great Powers" seem to be always cold. Thus, one might say Clemlin opens a new cold war against USA and NATO. If so, it is a pitty: I hoped Russia is not the empire of evil anymore.
"The Cold War" was really over. The USA have nomore engagement in defending Europe (and Germany, in particular). The WW2 is completely over in Europe. On the other hand, the USA still have duties in defending Israel, Japan, Taiwan. Those dities were implied to the USA and UK as they were the only true winners in the WW2. Thus, the USA now is free to leave NATO. If USA still support NATO, this is because USA hopes NATO to support the defense of Israel and the anti-terroristic actions. As often NATO declines, as in Iraq, as soon USA can retract from NATO. Baltic countries have to realize that NATO is not so reliable as they might wish.
In conclusion, the USA are not interested in Russia. Actually, the USA are interested in the safety of Russian nuclear weapons only.
