"Kачать вершинами" is not OK either.
But it is OK for me, "Kачать вершинами деревьев". What did you choose? "качать листьями"?[/quote:21652zhj]
"Играть вершинами деревьев" is OK. But "качать вершины деревьев" is not. Well, on a second thought "качать" doesn't sound right with "вершины деревьев" at all. No right answer. IMHO.

    ...

Ups, typo. I meant "качать вершинами деревьев" here.

I personally don't have a problem with "Kачать вершинами деревьев". However, I have a huge problem with "Солнце ложится". I am able to generously forgive a poet for this odd little expression, they are not normal people anyway. On the other hand, if a foreigner says it, that would sound completely out of place. And if we are talking poetic rather than conventional, then there you go, the whole shebang:

    1. c) d) e)
    2. a) b)
    3. a) c) e)
    4. a) b) c)

Tell me my imagination has limits .
I've got a TV, and I'm not afraid to use it

"Солнце ложится" - see quotes from literature in some posts above. No problem for me at all, more common is "солнце садится", though.
