    Русский Case Help

Hi guys, for this sentence: "Я учился Русский сегодня," did I put Русский in the correct case, that is, inanimate accusative? Also, do I have to add язык to русский to clarify that it's the language I'm talking about? Thanks.

Я учился русскому сегодня is the way to go or Я учил русский сегодня. The latter is colloquial and most likely what an average speaker would say. The former is more of a grammar nazi thing, so kind of bookishly formal I suppose.

No, you don't have to add язык to clarify your point, but you still can do it. Totally up to the speaker. Well, if you need to be all formal, then язык is required
I do not claim that my opinion is absolutely true.
If you've spotted any mistake in my English, please, correct it. I want to be aware of any mistakes to efficiently eliminate them before they become a habit.

Я занимался изучением русского (языка) сегодня.

I think this is more close to: I studied russian today.
