im trying to say 'i finished studying'. which of the following is correct?
я кончила изучать
я кончила изучение

я закончила учёбу
я окончила обучение - formal
(where self is a female)

I suggest you not to use the verb "кончить" in informal speech because on slang it means "to have an orgasm"

If you mean 'i finished studying something'

я закончила изучать + (Accusative) or
я закончила изучение + (Genitive)

both correct.
