Say what? I got an offline Russian book that says otherwise.
x=<30 "в"
I stick to what I got. And still bear in mind that there is always a way to go upside down.^^

It's still interesting to see that there do appear to be some exceptions here - whether or not they are correct in written speech is nothing I can make statement on as non-native. Regional language differences, perhaps? Or something like spoken vs. written language?
I now kinda get an idea why language students get a degree of "philosophy"...^^
Thx to all.
Perhaps, it's the regional language differences, but I did say that I'd never heard somebody omit a preposition or adverb to define the time something happened. And I've met a lot of people from many other parts of Russia in my life.
As for me, saying "это случилось десять минут второго" sounds as bad as not using a preposition with a verb of motion
Like here:
Я иду магазин instead of я иду в магазин or я вылетел Москву unstead of Я вылетел из Москвы
I am too living in Siberia, the Earth, and I hear sometimes that people refer to time moments without "в". Don't know the rules, but it definitely happens.
No, it does not sound Okay.
It does. In my mind it immediately expands to
on topic: I agree with the majority: without в all sounds bad exept cases like this: - Когда это случилось - Без any thing. You see there's enough context so that we could be easily understood that we're not talking about what time it is (I mean the когда). And one other important point is that в без is rather a moutnfull. Also sounds OK to me. Полвторого она вернется (instead of в полвторого ) is wrong through and through.
