Terms of Endearment / Love etc

    Hi,

Can you help me out with the following:

    1. I am looking for Russian equivalent of dear or darling - kind of in a dismissive way. 'Thanks, but I'm not interested, dear'. Dorogaya? or something else?

    2. Term of endearment / diminutive name for a girlfriend or sweetheart. English name of the woman is Nicola.

Thanks very much for your help.

    Cx

"Dorogusha" (дорогуша) sounds pretty dismissive I think. Спасибо, дорогуша,но мне это не интересно.

It's a little bit tricky since we don't have a feminine name form of Nicholas in Russian. Therefore Kolya and it's derivatives (Колюся, Колюша, Коленька, etc) can't be applied here IMO. So, I can suggest sticking to Nika (Ника) or its derviatives: Nikusha, Nikusya, Nikulya (Никуша, Никуся, Никуля). The derivatives sound somewhat cheesy and suitable for the speech of a wishy-washy type of male personality.
    Lampada and nsdfrv like this.
