facility means gym or sports gym or sports arena

is the word facility neuter? I thought it was feminine because the russian word ends in 'a'.

"Facility" does not have a gender. What Russian word do you mean? "Здание" (a building) ends in "e", as well as "приспособление" (which is not good, because it means an "appliance"/"device").

facility means gym or sports gym or sports arena

You can use "спортивный зал" (a gym in a building), "спортивная площадка" или "спортплощадка" (pitch), стадион "(an arena/stadium) or "спорткомплекс" ("спортивный комплекс") (a sports complex).
