    Well, if I got you right and you associate KNIT with Завязывай you're wrong KNIT = Вязать, Завязывать means to tie (ropes, wires etc) up Cheers
    No, you misunderstood, I meant that I'll remember the word "ныть" by remembering the word "knit" in English

    By the way you can replace the word ныть with the word канючить which is really close to the word to bitch

    канючить comes from a word канюк - Common Buzzard - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia . That bird has particularly annoying call So хватит канючить is more like stop pester me.
    quit bitchin' would be хватить ныть or хватит ворчать.
