I'd even ask "Что у тебя в руке?" It's more idiomatic.

    2. Everything was wonderful!

    3. My lips hurt_.
In Russian, all nationalities and their corresponding languages start with a lower-case letter.

Sorry I copied the question wrongly. I should be:

    My lip hurts.
Would it be correct to say the following?

"У меня болит губа" is the idomatic way to say that.

If it is an idiomatic expression, then would it also carry some other meaning that what one sees? That my lip hurts?

It's not an idiomatic expression, it's just a common way to say that something (of your body) hurts.

Моя нога болит - not incorrect, but not idiomatic
Мои зубы болят - not incorrect, but not idiomatic
    and so on.
