    How you call in russia the metallic part that connects two pipes?
    I have a russian client who wants to create a factory that will produce metallic pipe connectors for oil pipes.

    I don't think that my question was so illogical or professional.
    I didn't ask how is called a part of spaceship or a chemical element that only a minority of people knows.

    The connecting part on your picture is called "фланцевое соединение".
    Фланец под приварку для стальных труб:

    Муфта для соединения полипропиленовых труб при помощи сварки:

    Ниппель резьбовой (in general: муфта fits to outer side of a pipe, ниппель - inner side):

    хреновина could be roughly translated as "that thing", could mean just about anything and could be used as substitution for a real name of anything if you don't know it
