Reviewing a few sentences I had written months ago, I came across:
Биолог интересуется деревьями, растушими на севере.
But, even my poor native grammar resists that participle form, intuitively. I think I did something wrong there.
I know past active participles are made by removing the -ть from the infinitive, plus -вший. The irregular infinitive, расти, does not make this possible, and I haven't thought about turning irregular forms into participles. How does that work, then? Is there a specific rule for turning such verbs into participles, ("just remove X, or Y), or does every irregular infinitive (class) have a slightly different form?
Thanks.
