A one day at a tie relationship is like "we'll take it one day at a time, and see how it goes".
Ah, that makes more sense.Quote:

A simple question went down to prove the differense btw "One-day-at-a-time" and "one night stand".
First of all "one night stand" means - FLING!
"One-day-at-a-time" means - relationship.
Now. My hard guess wud be -
сеймоментныe отношения
What do u recon?
There are relations like:
a. to have a sex in the toilet of a night club
b. to invite someone to some place and have
a sex there so that tomorrow you both
forget each other never to meet again
c. to have sex for a week and then part
d. ...month...
etc.
I think, the meaning of that term is somewhere between b and c.

I thought you were in need of russian translation. Sorry.
So my variant is above and this is an explanation.
If that is your explanation, then your variant is wrong.
isn't one-day-at-a-time relationship kind of like a non-commitment rlationship?
Not necissarily having sex. maybe even no sex at all. But even so, I think its something that both parties don't commit to long-term and just take it "one day at a time" "step by step" "one step at a time" or however you want to put it.
I'd say what you're describing would be better phrased a 'no-strings' relationship. To me, a 'one-day-at-a-time' relationship is different to that, it's a relationship that's free from the burden or the pressure of expectations, but it's not necessarily casual.
Yeah, I don't know where these other jokers are coming from. I think TATY was being sarcastic, and the other posters just piled on. As far as I know, it means to take something slowly, without rushing (the exact OPPOSITE of a one-night stand). It's similar to the expression of "day by day". In this context, I'd say it just means these people aren't looking to force ahead, to rush a new relationship, to be overaggresive, etc. For example:Quote:

"Jenna told Michael she's not ready to move in with him -- she's the one-day-at-a-time kind of person."
And similarly:
"-Wow. This is a really difficult class! How am I ever going to learn Russian?"
"-Don't be overwhelmed! Just do all the homework, and take it one day at a time!"
I'd say that a " one day at a time relationship" is not a relationship at all. It is just the begining of something that may or my not turn into a relationship after further time is spent together.
