I think you are right; it helps to know your foe. Your topic was locked somehow so I'm responding here. There are plenty of those you mentioned but the most bugging that have been around lately (thank God the wave is subsiding or rather, have subsided now) are как бы (it must be a full analog of your like) and на самом деле (in fact). Rock, pop and what not celebrities used them on TV so often you’d think any other words were optional.

I realize now that my post could have sounded immature or naive... it's too bad I can no longer use my limited knowledge of English as an explanation for my ineptness... :P
