    How to translate

    Observe the following sentence:

Но как-то никто особенно не нравился.

What would be a correct way to translate it? And what is the function of the words как-то and никто in this construction?

    Thanks

I'll take a shot at it, but don't trust me!

никто = No one / nobody (notice the "Kto")

    как-то = somehow

"But somehow no one especially did not like"

...but that doesn't sound like a correct sentence to me...

Would the "Но" in this context mean more like "although"?

    Good try, Fantom.

First of all the sentence is missing the word, that's why it's hard to translate word to word.
Но [мне, ему, кому-то] как-то никто особенно не нравился.

So.. it would be something like
"But somehow [I, he, somebody] didn't like anyone especially."

Well, to me it also doesn't sound very good..
The meaning should be: [someone] had no special feeling towards anyone without explainable reason.

    Is it too complicated now?

Notice, that it isn't a mistake. In some contexts the sentence is correct. For example:
Я мог бы влюбиться... Но как-то никто особенно не нравился.

But OK, it sounds weird. I think, как-то is redundant here.
My English isn't so good, зато с русским все в порядке ))
I'll be very thankful, if you correct my mistakes.

In Russian it is quite often OK to omit притяжательное местоимение. So the phrase is perfectly OK, but difficult to find out who was the person who did not like anybody there.
