    Ещё говорят: "человек из органов"
Органы - иногда имеется ввиду КГБ/ФСБ
    от "компетентные" органы
или органы внутренних дел (но в большинстве случаев, имеется ввиду милиция, а не ФСБ)

    КГБшник/КГБшница - slightly negative
    Гебист/Гебистка - negative
    разведчик/разведчица - strongly positive

Not any "разведчик" is KGB agent. So ther's a big difference, IMHO.

It was more of a joke referring to the разведчик/шпион gag.

What about just the good, old-fashioned "чекист"?

The spoken word died out favourably at the end of the Soviet era.

Лучше сказать не "лексика", а "словарь".

Лексика - это больше термин, чем часто употребялемое слово, и поэтому более специфично.

    Am I writing clear?

    -------

Well, you can here such word here and there but not too much. Many young people, I think, won't figure out what you are driving at.

I agree with the 2nd phrase..but it's better to say: думал, что оно еще в употреблении..or в ходу или на слуху..

    You are right.

I think he wanted to say that the word was still the one to use along with any other everyday words which make up today's vocabulary...

Yep. And I have nothing to back that up with. It was just my understanding...

Q: How to call a man or a woman from the KGB?

A: The best way to call them is during working hours by dialing their number directly from your cell phone

Wow. I knew cell phones were powerful -- you can play games, surf the internet and text message -- but I never knew they could act as time machines and transport you back to the Soviet Era! I need to go invest in some stocks, in about 1980...Apple computer? If a fruit company is good enough for Forest Gump, then it works for me... Microsoft? What's that? :P

mind the way you pronounce it!
don't try to say it the very way you see it

How naive to think that KGB was shut down. They are still watching you... everywhere
