    rough time

    How do I say "I started at about 10 PM?"

    Is this right?:

    Я начал в часов десять вечера.

    Я начал в часов десять вечера is also correct. Just say it like Я начал в... э-э-э (thinking).... часов десять вечера.

    you can say it either way. Saying decyat chasov is like saying 10 oclock but you mean it exact. Saying chasov decyat will have the meaning of about 10. I started at about 10.

    Usually the propositions in this case should be after the noun and before the numeral.

    Мне нужно выбрать что-то одно предметов из десяти.
    Я просмотрел все комнаты на этом этаже. Только комнатах в двух студенты учились, в остальных занимались непотребными делами.
    Ладно, часов в 5 я подойду.
