    genitive plural - songtext

In one of Алёна Свиридова's videoclips I hear:

"...я знаю, что знаю тебя лишь коротких два дня..."

    why коротких????

два короткого дня would be 2 short days...
I guess лишь points out that the time is REALLY SHORT..and therefore genitive plural or what? - unlikely
    no pain, no gain

Days are plural: два дня - two days.

I never noticed before, but we do use "days" in sinlular form when we taik about two, tree and for days: два дня, три дня, четыре дня, but пять дней, шесть дней... weird Russian... But even in these cases all dependent words are in plural: два долгих дня, три коротких дня, четыре жарких дня.

I remember again!! this is a rule..not an exception!!

    I have another question:
How do I say: "Every 2,3 minutes?"

    (on) every minute: Каждую минуту
    5th minute: ...пятую минуту...

    but??
    каждые 2,3 минуты...

    два/три??

    "Every two or three minute.."

we learn russian theoretically....unfortunately we won't fly to russia...but I want to...so I wanna know more than other people do ^_^

a language should not get lost in one's brain, shouldn't it?

No, man/ I was wrong, sorry. It is normal regular way, they just look like singular, but they are actually are in plural accusative case. For example:

    тарелка (sing) - тарелки (plur)

    одна тарелка
    две тарелки
    три тарелки
    четыре тарелки
    пять тарелок
    шесть тарелок
    семь тарелок
    восемь терелок
    девять тарелок
    десять тарелок

From two to four in accusative, from five to ten in genitive, but everywhere plural. The same with days:

    один день
    два дня
    три дня
    четыре дня
    пять дней
    шесть дней
    семь дней
    восемь дней
    девять дней
    десять дней

Here "дня" is in plural accusative, not in singular genitive, they just sound exactly the same!

    Sorry!

Это отголосок былого существования двойственного числа в русском языке.
