How do you say in Russia:
1. I have an expertise on (the analysis of) International Trade.
2. I have an expertise on (the portfolio management of) High Net Worth Individuals.
3. He is an expert on genetics.
4. He is specialized on Chinese Customers.

Also can someone please tell me how you can say in Russia: I ranked first in the university/class/contest (i.e. I had the highest mark).

Well, this is a very difficult question. I'll try to help you with that but I'm not 100% sure of the result though. Okay, let's do that.

1. У меня есть знания и опыт по международной торговле - I'm pretty sure about this one
2. У меня есть знания и опыт по составлению портфолио для людей с высоким достатком - not sure about с высоким достатком part. Sounds more like "with high income to me"
3. Он эксперт по генетике or Он эксперт в области генетики - 100% sure about this one
4. Он специализируется на покупателях из Китая - quite sure about this one

Относительно последнего вопроса which is not included in the list: " I ranked first in the university/class/contest (i.e. I had the highest mark)." How do you say this in Russian (if there is of course a short way to say it).

Also which is the correct (your version sounds to me more correct from all to be honest)

or
у меня здания и опты в этой теме

I had the highest mark - У меня высший балл here you need to add in what you have that highest mark.

e.g. У меня высший балл по физике.

I ranked first in the class - What do you mean? A class as in a lesson or as in a group of students? Anyway,
for the group of students - Я был лучшим в классе.
for the lesson - Я был лучшим по предмету. Where предмет represents a class name such as physics Я был лучшим по физике.

I ranked first in the university - Я был лучшим в университете. Or I assume you use that phrase after you graduated from the University so I suggest using this one, which sounds more formal thus more appropriate for such a phrase:
Я был лучшим выпускником университета or Я лучший выпускник университета.

I ranked first in the contest - Я занял первое место в конкурсе. You do realize you need to specify which конкурс you mean?

OK I will specify them.

"I ranked first in the class - What do you mean?"

Maybe ranked first in his course of studies at university. His specialty.
Он был лучшим в курсе своих заняий в вузе.??

Я был лучшим по своей специальности в вузе/университете

"Лучший в своей специальности" - о людях одной профессии. Как "лучший токарь завода".

"Лучший студент на факультете/в группе" - студент с максимальной успеваемостью "вообще" (по всем дисциплинам)

"Лучший студент по физике"

"Лучший" можно часто заменять на "первый", как "первый парень на деревне".
Пример на закрепление из моей настольной книги:

- А ты знаешь, кто у нас в классе первый ученик? - спросил Карлсон. - Угадай, кто лучше всех умеет считать, и писать, и... Кто вообще лучше всех?

- Когда входишь в дом, надо здороваться, - сказала фрекен Бок. - И меня нисколько не интересует, кто у вас первый ученик. Уж во всяком случае, не ты, это ясно.
