Thread: Do you mind?

What is the equivalent russian phrase for: "Do you mind?"

as in, would this/it bother you (if)? or, would you permit me? or, would you be offended if...

As insecure as I am, I would probably want to use all variants of this at one time! Why can't it be simple like in English - a simple, "Let's Dance!"

Here are equivalets:

"Вы не возражаете?"
"Вы не против?"

And if you'd like to dance, you might say "Разрешите Вас пригласить"

All this are polite forms. Surely, there is no use of them on the disco among emty-headed drunk youngsters

Thank you. The reason I was thinking it might not be so "simple" was because I was foreseeing that the use of "mind" might end up being construed as "Do you think" or "Do you understand" or "Do you have a head"...

I am most interested in familiar forms of the expression, almost an expression of endearment -- "Will you allow me, Princess? (or will you be angry with me)...
