    A couple of words

    I looked up some words and the definition in my dictionary is ambiguous.
    Can somebody clarify things for me?

    участь = lot
    does this mean an area to park - parking lot?

    ячейка = cell
    does this mean a biological cell with a neucleos or a jail cell

    стойка = bar
    I thought that bar was "бар"
    Какая разница, умереть богатым или бедным?

    Какой толк от богатства если ты не счастлив.

    No. This means fate. For example, Stephen King's "Salem's Lot" was translated into Russian as "Участь Салема".

    ячейка = cell
    does this mean a biological cell with a neucleos or a jail cell
    biological cell -- OK (what does neucleos mean?)
    Jail cell -- тюремная камера

    стойка = bar
    I thought that bar was "бар"
    My dictionary says that bar can be either стойка, бар or a number of other things (for instance, брусок etc.)
    My English isn't so good, зато с русским все в порядке ))
    I'll be very thankful, if you correct my mistakes.

    Вот это да, я так люблю себя. И сегодня я люблю себя, ещё больше чем вчера, а завтра я буду любить себя to ещё больше чем сегодня. Тем что происходит,я вполне доволен!

    Ups, major typo. I meant to say "nucleus", the center of a cell.

    Not only. It's also 'Some kinds of isolated rooms in public institutions'(судебная камера, больничная камера, тюремная камера, одиночная камера).
    By the way, this word has one more meaning

    ячейка = a political group (aka cell) or a small compartment (like a safe deposit box or baggage compartment), or a unit of digital memory storage measurement (bit), etc. depending on context.

    стойка = bar
    I thought that bar was "бар"

    here as in "drinks counter", aka bar

    стойка also has many meanings
    I've got a TV, and I'm not afraid to use it

    I'd recommend ABBYY Lingvo. I looked up those words and had no problems. A dictionary that contains only one-word definitions (участь = lot) will give you headaches. Lingvo defines it as fate, lot, so you know which meaning of "lot" it relates to.

    The recent translation is "Жребий". So 'lot' exactly means that.

    A cell in honeycomb is "сота". Cellphone is "сотовый телефон".
