What are the best words for assassin?

In this sentence:
Предположительно он нанял убийцу, чтобы убить своего врага.
(Allegedly he hired an assassin to kill his enemy.)

a form of убийца is used and my understanding is that it means killer, murderer, or assassin. Are there other words for assassin that would fit into this sentence in place of убийца?

Also does using якобы produce an equivalent meaning to the previous Russian sentence?

Якобы он нанял убийцу, чтобы убить своего врага.

Which sentence sounds more natural in Russian?

Also would there be any word alterations needed if one were to sarcastically say:
Он принадлежал к союзу убийцы и не убьет кого-нибудь за что-нибудь меньше, чем стандартной платы. Он считал себя профессиональным и взял большую гордость за свою работу.

(He belonged to the assassin's union and would not murder anyone for anything less than the standard fee. He considered himself to be a professional and took great pride in his work.)

With якобы, one conveys rumors (someone said...). Предположительно could express uncertainty in other situations (logical deduction, scientific prognosis,...) and sounds more formal: Предположительно, это лето будет жарким.
So якобы & предположительно are close but not same.

A Russian-speaker I know gave me this feedback:
якобы - implies that the accusation is questionable
Предположительно - implies that the accusation is reliable (but not necessarily proven)
Also the word киллер is more likely to be used than убийца, according to him.

Speaking of killers, has the movie Американский снайпер been widely viewed in Russia? What has been the reaction of Russians to that movie?

You can get rid of murderers, assasins, killers altogether: "он заказал убийство своего врага"

For "modern" "custom" murders киллер & (наёмный) убийца are equal I think, where киллер is more colloquial.
For "ancient" "custom" "foreign" murders ассасин & (наёмный) убийца are equal I think.
So, (наёмный) убийца is most universal.
