Thread: accompany

Some help with the following expressions:
1. The economic problems created by the financial crisis are accompanied by many social problems.
2. He wants to accompany her to the graduate dance, but he is too shy to ask her.
3. The bank statement should be accompanied by all the supporting documents.

Экономические проблемы, созданные финансовым кризисом, сопровождаются большим числом социальных проблем.

1. Экономические проблемы, созданные финансовым кризисом, сопровождаются многочисленными социальными проблемами.
2. In fact, "to accompany" = "сопровождать" works awkwardly here, at least in Russian. I wonder it works in English or doesn't. In my opinion, it would be better to use "to invite" = "приглашать" in this case. At least, in Russian. Because "сопровождать" doesn't imply that he will be dancing with the girl necessarily.
3. Выписка из банка должна сопровождаться всеми подтверждающими документами.
