Thread: объединение стержень ??

In an exercise I hear that somebody works as a Senior Economist in a "объединение стéржень" (lit.: unit kernel / core). I don't understand it.

If the accent would be as с тeржéнь, it could be taken as "works in a unit with ...", but the case would be a problem . I don't know.

It is in 7-38 . It says Старший экономист объединения "Стержень". "Стержень" is the name of the association (company) this woman works for.

Hi, radomir. In this case объединение means amalgamation, integration or merger - I don't know exactly - and стержень is the name of this объединение and is translated bar, rod, spindle or pivot. We also use the word, for example, for an internal ink reservoir in a ballpoint pen.
