Literally, it means "ate too much pears." It's a sarcastic expression which makes fun of someone all-important. Usually, it is used in conjunction with a word "husband", as in:

    Муж - объелся груш.

    Re: объелся груш

    «Объелся груш» (src: «Муж объелся груш», rhyme).

    1) It means that a husband is crazy or he’s behavior was changed too sharply, spontaneously, and you can’t explain it, because it looks strange and not reasonably. In this case «Объелся груш» is equal «Белены объелся».
    2) But in another case it means that a husband is good-for-nothing, bad lot, «so so», and then «Объелся груш» is not equal «Белены объелся».
    3) Or it is sarcastic expression which makes someone funny.

    I agree with Ramil.
Have you seen the film "Ночные забавы"? Там герой Гафта очень выразительно говорит "муж объелся груш".

What do you mean by the word "cheating"?
    Изменяет.
In Russian, all nationalities and their corresponding languages start with a lower-case letter.

Ramil is right, woman say: "Был муж, да объелся груш", when her husband is leaving her.

Interesting! I have never ever heard a woman/wife use that phrase in order to declare her relations with another man!

I think Ramil says that a woman would say that if she cheats on her husband but you say she'd use "объелся груш" if her husband leaves her!

    Re: объелся груш

I asked one girl how she can sleep with me having a husband. She answered:"Mуж объелся груш" and laughed then she asked how I can sleep with her having a wife I answered:"Жена не стена, может и пододвинуться".
