    Soda Label (Short)

OK, So I just got back from a store that sells strange and rare sodas. Among my better finds were "Not-See Kola" (The drink is clear, the label sports the German Eagle. Get it?) "Red Cola Revolution" and, last but not least, "Leninade." The leninade bottle has some Russian on it that I don't know, aside from Lenin's name, so I was hoping someone here could translate.

It's a rude allusion at famous phrase:
    Ленин жил
    Ленин жив
    Ленин будет жить!

    Lenin lived
    Lenin is alive
    Lenin will live

the sense is like Lenin for ever!

Jokes about Linin are very comon here and judjing by the picture above everywhere
    Я так думаю.

Okay, I think the words translate best as:

    Lenin drank
    Lenin drinks
    Lenin will drink

maybe a play off of the phrase Leof wrote - but i haven't heard that.

I meant the sourse of allusion and wrote "It's a rude allusion at famous phrase"

Rtyom I thought the same firstly, but I doubted what will be right -
Lenin was alive - isn't it Ленин был живой(живым)((живучим! ))
    Я так думаю.

I guess the word "brisk" is what one needs to describe the leninade.

Well, it does have a rather strong flavor. For those interested who've never seen the stuff before, I'll just start quoting the rest of the label.

"Surprisingly Satisfying Simple Soviet Style Soda"

"Misha, Chill down this bottle & chill out!"

    "Get really hammered and sickled!"

"Beware the repressed communist party animal who is really a proletarian in denial masquerading as a bourgeois cold war monger!"

"Our five-year plan: Drink a bottle a day and become a hero of Socialist Flavor."

Thank you for the quotations! I laughed like crazy!

Edit: I didn't understand the line about Misha, though.

Not sure which part you're misunderstanding. To the best of my knowlege, there's not really a joke there.

To "chill down this bottle" would be to make the bottle cold (and therefore make the drink taste better)

To "Chill Out" is to relax.

I didn't mean that they weren't funny, just that there wasn't a pun or cultural reference involved.

And yes, Leninade is very real. The good people over at popsoda.com will be happy to send you some.
