Hmmm..... I need to ask them that. I definitely don't want to share a room with a stranger. It didn't occur to me when I made the booking. Has anyone been to a sanatorium? Is that a normal thing to do for them... putting strangers in the same room together? The twin bed room was only marginally cheaper than the double bed room. The difference was in the decoration - the double bed room was better decorated.

I am just about to pay for this place (see my travel blog for more information, in the travel section!)

On the "Министерство МВД РБ".... What precisely could this be?

You know, in Belarus, they still have the "KGB" organisation. Do you think they report into the MVD? In that case I'll be at a sanatorium with the KGB! Wait until I tell my friends about that!
If not, who are the MVD - what do they do?

I did not reflect on the acronym when I checked the resort in the "sanatorii.by" site - I don't think they mentioned it at all.

As I replied in another thread it's a police ministry. This sanatorium is for Belorussian police officers. I also highly recommed you to check deeper the fact if they are going to put you in a room with a stranger. The only thing they can provide for you that a stranger will be the same gender. It was a common Soviet practice and Belarus managed to keep many of old stupid Soviet customs. You hardly can be offered to share a room with a stranger in these day's Russia but in Belarus I guess it can be quite possible.
Please, correct my mistakes, except for the cases I misspell something on purpose!

Thanks for the suggestion. I've just posted the question to them now.
It's a funny organisation to deal with, they are very helpful and fast, but everything is very bureacratic.

Yes, it seems that is possible, even at "one of the best sanatoriums in Belarus!" Oh dear! Frankly, this possibility did not even occur to me at first. I only thought of it because the film "Mimino" was on TV, and there, two people are put in the same hotel room.

They just called me, and said that they have no single rooms. The price is very low, and I will tell them that I can pay the double price. If not, I might just go there, and simply leave if they put me with some frustrating person, or the lack of privacy gets to me.

    Ожидайте, пожалуйста, документы на оплату.
