“Поел” — (he) has eaten (edit: “he ate a little” is even better)

“догадался” — (he) surmised, guessed. In common words: to find the meaning/solution of something by one's own mind in conditions of lack of information without getting any help

    “действительно” — really, indeed

No, it is perfective, so the action was or is complete.

    “Берите” — nehmen Sie

“попробую” — I will try (I will taste (about a meal))

“шокировал” — (I, he) horrified, shocked (somebody)

“уклонистов” (Genitive plural) — deviationist, a man who refused to serve in army or, in more common sense, who refused to do something necessary (look at the context)

“с тех пор” — since those times

    I think.....

Берите – Брать – to take
    я беру
    ты берёшь
    он берёт
    мы берём
    вы берёте
они берут > бер + и + те Formal imperative "Take!"

с тех пор, как – (ever) since
тот – тех (plural gen. of ‘that’)
    пора- time, season
