Thread: Ukrainian Translation Needed for Valentine Surprise

Okay, here's the deal. There is this Ukrainian boy in my class who I really like and I'm planning a surprise for him on Valentine's day. My school is selling cards that will be delivered to the person in their classroom.

I want to buy a bunch of cards & write messages inside in Ukrainian, but I don't know how to speak Ukrainian. Could anyone help me translate the following sentences??

1. You are so handsome!
2. You are the cutest guy in the world!
3. I am sorry so many people are mean to you.
4. I love you!
5. You have the sweetest smile!

And finally, how do you say "Secret Admirer". I'm going to write the cards to him in cyrillics, so please translate it into cyrillics.

I don't know any Ukrainian, but here it is in Russian(which I am very sure he knows):
1. Ты такой красивый!
2. Ты самый симпатичный парень на свете!
3. Мне жаль, что так много людей тебе недобры. (this one I am a bit unsure about, could you check it?)
4. Я люблю тебя!
5. У тебя самая милая улыбка!

As for Secret Admirer, "Секретный Поклонник" would work, wouldn't it?

1. it's not "cyrillics" as much as it is "latinics", it's just cyrillic
2. He's ukrainain, but these days, who isn't ? the notes in russian to him will be just fine, im 100% positive he'd rather speak russian than ukrainian anyways.

Pravit, everything is great, only No 3 needs a little correction.

3. Мне жаль, что так много людей тебе недобры. (this one I am a bit unsure about, could you check it?)

Мне жаль, что так много людей к тебе недобры.
or
Мне жаль, что так много людей недобры к тебе. (sounds more Russian to me)

Erm... sorry, wrong number. (this is a Russian language forum, Ukranian is a different language, albeit also Slavic)

P.S. The only Ukranian I know is "всё гiрше i гiрше жiвуть клятi москалi" = life is getting harder and harder for the f... moscovites - great for shouting in Tverskaya Street (a word of warning - you may feel a sudden urge to leg it after doing so)

Ooh, ooh, I know how to say "Привiт"! That and "З наилучшими побажаниями", or something like that.

There's a couple of real examples. Say, "весела пiсенька" (guess what ), "на даху я" ("на кpыше я"), "виє бiс на гоpiще" ("воет бес на чердаке") . Or just remember the names of some Океан Ельзи's songs: "Кiшка" ("кошка"), "Сосни" ("сосны")...

Да. Русский "кот" это украинский "кiт" (произносится ~ "кит"), ну а "кит" он и в Африке "кит", только произносится ~ "кыт" в отдельных государствах. "Кошка", соотвественно, "кiшка", затем "кiшечка", etc.
