    Sharpen the pencil...

    Помимо того, что это просто значит "заострить карандаш", как еще переводится это выражение...?

    Basically he means "get ready" [to write].
    Literally it is заострить карандаш.

    But, the expression taken as a whole, could have some other meaning...

    Something like "prices are posted, get ready for shopping?" - Just a guess.
