Not to get to off topic here, but I would like to know this as well.

I had someone say brother, and I was like, I thought you did not have a brother, then they said, cousin. I was like, is it brother or cousin?

So Cousin/Brother/Sister mean the same thing?

No you are both mixing it up:

Cousin is двоюродный брат / двоюродная сестра, depending on the gender. You were probably only familiar with the word "брат" and "сестра" when they said it, therefore you made that connection

You are right, kalinka, but many people often miss "двоюродный/двоюродная" and say simple "брат/сестра" meaning "cousin". "Кузен/кузина" are rather archaic words and aren't commonly used now.
Please, correct my mistakes, except for the cases I misspell something on purpose!

Yes, I always call my cousin a brother when talking to somebody. I only mention that he's "двоюродный" when it's crucial or when somebody says "Hey! I thought you were a single child".

    Ещё можно сказать
    Рождество у Лизы
    (моя мама бы так сказала)
    Чаще говорят "двоюродный брат/двоюродная сестра"
Vrei să pleci dar nu ma, nu ma iei
Nu ma, nu ma iei, nu ma, nu ma, nu ma iei
Chipul tau si dragostea din tei
    Mi-amintesc de ochii tai

Только сейчас заметил... Фразу "We hope you are doing well", лучше перевести как: "Мы надеемся, что у вас всё хорошо".

I received clarification, yes they do call cousins brothers/sisters here in the ukraine anyway.
