I'd normally agree with you on this. But the test clearly doesn't really test your "восприятие", but your ability to perceive what might be difficult to notice. I'm talking about mental activity here, not just about your sight or hearing. Восприятие doesn't really mean what I put in bold there. Again, talking about mental activity. However, внимание doesn't do that either.

I suggest "острота ума", which corresponds perfectly with the bolded text.
