Thread: Please help me to translate a few words!

Hi, we are building up a small electronic device, and now we need to translate these words in the interface into Russian. Can anybody help me with it? I can't simply trust Google translate . Any help is much appreciated.


Sample volume size
edge enhancement
edge enhancement power

It is absolutely impossible to give any proposals for your lines because they mean nothing for a person who is not familiar with your device. It would be easy to help you if you explain what is the edge and what is the edge enhancement in your device. As for "Sample volume size" do you really need both "volume" and "size" to describe the sample dimensions or there is some hidden meaning?

It's a ultrasonic scanning device, used to produce ultrasound images.

sample volume size: we use this item to adjust the the size of the sample box. It's 3D, so we use 'volume '. Hope you get the idea .

edge enhancement, when turned ON, increases the resolution at the target object boundary.

edge enhancement power, representing a number, is used to adjust the level of edge enhancement.

As for "Sample volume size" it is clear a little bit what the "volume size" is. But What is the "Sample"? Is it an object which image your device produces or it is an unit volume in some space over which some image processing procedures is performed.

For a user interface I'd propose:
Sample volume size — Cканируемый объём (...) "Scanned volume (units)"
Edge enhancement — Улучшение разрешения (Вкл./Выкл.) "Resolution enchencement (On/Off)"
Edge enhancement power — Степень улучшения "Enchancement power"
