    A few simple phrases.

    A few simple phrases.
Can somebody please check my translations?
    Thanks.

    English to Russian:
When I walk along the beach
Когда я гуляю/иду пешком по плажу.

I look back on my life.
Я оглянусь назад на мою жизнь.

And I ask myself if I am happy.
    И я попрошу меня, если я счастлив.

    But there is something missing.
    Но есть кое-что отсутствие.

I toss stones in the river.
    Я брошу камни в реке.

    Russian to English:
Что за блажь, что за напасть:
    Как завижу лошадь,
    Сразу хочется украсть —
    Признак нехороший!
    Охладел даже к деньгам,
    К йогурту и книгам.
    А я, наверное, цыган
    Или даже цыган.

What for a whim, what for a misfortune:
As I shall catch sight of a horse,
Immediately I want to steal –
    A bad sign!
I have grown cold even to money,
    To yoghurt and books.
    And I, probably, the gypsy
    Or even the gypsy.
Какая разница, умереть богатым или бедным?

Какой толк от богатства если ты не счастлив.

And I ask myself if I am happy.
    И я попрошу меня...
    'self' In russian is себя.

"я спрошу себя, счастлив ли я"

попрошу mean you'll ask yourself for a favor.

    walk along the beach.
    гуляю по пляжу.

    Что за блажь
    What for a whim
что за is just a way of asking "what is" and it uses the nominative.

эй слишь? Чё за песня? - Hey guy, what song is that?

My fingers are sticky with spicy cheetos so I can't type anymore.
Вот это да, я так люблю себя. И сегодня я люблю себя, ещё больше чем вчера, а завтра я буду любить себя to ещё больше чем сегодня. Тем что происходит,я вполне доволен!

Not that you should take anything I say about Russian grammar to seriously, but shouldn

You must be right there Kamion, except that, as I understand it, the personal pronoun is omitted entirely in cases like this where it is not needed.
Having said that, I don't know what would be the most natural formulation here ..?
Море удачи и дачу у моря

свою is only mandatory in third-person constructions, because it's necessary to distinguish between sentences like:

он любит свою жену - he loves his (own) wife.

    and

он любит его жену - he loves his (someone else's) wife.

This distinction doesn't occur in the 1st or 2nd persons, so свою is optional there.

But yeah, Waxwing is quite right, in this particular case it would be omitted anyway.

    I'd say "What a whim, what a misfortune". It's a rhetorical question.

I've heard this что за ... before (not sure where .. maybe бумер ).

How is it different to какой / какая ?

Like "какое несчастья!" hmm think I heard that in служебный роман

In English you can say "Such unhappiness!" but also (more usual) "What unhappiness!"

I think they are pretty the same:
Что за несчастье! Мой муж опять напился.
Какое несчастье! Мой муж опять напился.
    or even
Такое несчатье! Мой муж опять напился.

But they aren't completely interchangeable. Unfortunately I can't explain when to use one when another.
Хозяева опять выселяют меня из квартиры, придётся искать новую. Ну что за жизнь!
Я проспал и опоздал на самолёт. Какая досада!

    What about the sentence

    А я, наверное, цыган
    Или даже цыган.
    And I probably gypsy
    Or even gypsy.

    This doesn't quite make sense.

    Maybe it means something like
And I might be a gypsy
    Or even THE GYPSY HIMSELF.

Here is the next couple of paragraphs to the song.
Can someone please check if I translated everything ok?

А вот бы конь меня унёс
    По полям куда-то!
    А я в рубахе «Хьюго Босс»,
    Красной от заката!
    Поваляюсь у костра,
    Как Алёша Пешков,
    И мне старик McCar Чудра
    Будет врать неспешно.
    Ой, ромалэ!
    Ой, ёлы-палы!

And here the horse would carry me away
    On fields somewhere!
And I in a shirt "Hugo the Boss",
    Red from a decline!*
I shall roll about at the campfire
    As Alyosha Peshkov,
    And old man McCar Chudra
Will slowly tell lies to me.
    Oh, gypsy!
    Oh, fir-tree-branches!**

    * I think this is an idiom of sorts
    ** Oh darn!

    Заскочу в тенистый лес
    За малиной сладкой.
А там цыганка ждет — топлесс,
    Дикая лошадка!
Дерзкий нрав, в глазах — пожар.
    Но я тебя объезжу!
    Рассмеётся: «Ай, Зобар!»
    А я её зарежу!

I shall drop in a shady wood
    Behind a sweet raspberry.
And there gypsy waits - topless,
    the Wild horse!
Impudent customs, in eyes - a fire.
But I shall travel to you!
Will burst out laughing: "Ah, Зобар!"
    And I shall kill her!

    Don't you think?

    Красной от заката!
    Red from a decline!
    Закат = Sunset.

    Как Алёша Пешков
    As Alyosha Peshkov
Sounds better as "Like alesha peshov"

    Ой, ёлы-палы!
    Oh, fir-tree-branches!
lol. When people say 'Елки-палки' it's like "Oh sh*t".
Even though it comes from the word christmas tree.

    * I think this is an idiom of sorts
    ** Oh darn!
    Right =)))

    Но я тебя объезжу!
But I shall travel to you!
i dont know about this, but i dont think it's right.

"Объездить" here means to tame a wild horse so that it could be ridden on.
"Happy new year, happy new year
May we all have a vision now and then
Of a world where every neighbour is a friend"

Thanks Frendy! So the translation is
    Но я тебя объезжу!
But I shall tame you! ("you" referring to the wild horse)
    as opposed to
    Но я тебе объезжу!
But I shall tame a wild horse for you!

Can someone please check the following?
Sorry if I am asking for too much.

У нас, цыган, я вам скажу,
    Строго с этим делом!
    Это ж не лямур-тужур,
    Это ж, блин, чавела!
    И гитара запоёт,
    И я навзрыд заплачу
    И поеду на восход
    В джинсах от Версаче
    От «Газпрома» и «ЛУКОЙЛа» —
    Ох, достали! —
    Выводи коня из стойла,
    Поскакали!

To us, the gypsy, I shall tell you,
    strict with this business!
    This is not L'amour toujours,
    This is such pancake*, people!
    And the guitar starts singing,
    And I violently shall cry
And I shall go on rising
    In jeans from Versace
    From "Gazprom" and "LUKOIL" –
    Oh, (you) annoyed**! –
Take out the horse from the stall,
    (You) galloped!

*блин = pancake, but I think in this case it means “crap”
** достали = have gotten, but I think in this case it means “annoyed” as from previous posts

    Выйдет дядька из тумана
    И нальёт мне «Каберне»,
    Спросит как цыган цыгана:
    «Ай-на-нэ?» — Скажу: «На-нэ!»
    Ай-на-нэ, вставляй, народ,
    Зубы золотые!
    Серьгу в ухо — и вперёд,
    В ковыли густые!

Will leave uncle from a fog
And will pour me a "Cabernet",
Will ask as the gypsy of the gypsy:
    "Ah-Na-Hey? " - I Shall tell: "Na-Hey! "
    Ah-Na-Hey, insert, people,
    gold teeth!
Earring in an ear - and forward,
    In dense feather-grasses!

It's alot maybe i'll look at it later. But i can tell you already the first line is wrong. У нас = We have.

У нас, цыган, я вам скажу (I guess цыган means gypsy, so)
Us, gypsies, let me tell you(I shall tell you, I'll tell you, yadda yadda)
Вот это да, я так люблю себя. И сегодня я люблю себя, ещё больше чем вчера, а завтра я буду любить себя to ещё больше чем сегодня. Тем что происходит,я вполне доволен!

Is there anyone else who can find any more mistakes on these most recent verses? Or is everything completely correct?

    What does this mean?
    Эх, как бы жили-поживали

    Any help would be appreciated.
