    meaning of word paltsi

    Hello,

    Does anyone know if the word "paltsi" means anything in particular in russian?

    I spent of my summers as a child in Paltsi, Greece, and I was recently told that it means "queen bee" in russian or some other slavic language.

    Please let me know if this is true or not.

    paltsi means fingers (пальцы) in Russia. Also when I was in Greece locals called three big peninsulas as "fingers".

    "Queen bee"?

    "Paltsi" (пальцы) means fingers (or toes), and has nothing to do with "queen" or "bee". It's less romantic, so I'm sorry.
    In Russian, all nationalities and their corresponding languages start with a lower-case letter.

    Пчеломатка, матка, пчелиная королева.
    "Россия для русских" - это неправильно. Остальные-то чем лучше?
