Thread: "It was just luck"

A few varieties on this word. везение, cчастье (which I kind of sense means more happiness). Повезло. It seems like Russian expresses "luck"
more as a verb, than we see it as a (perhaps abstract) noun. Maybe I'm wrong. "Luck is a great thing to have." "It is better to be lucky than good."

Anybody care to give Russian equivalents: "Luck is a great thing to have." "It is better to be lucky than good."

"It is better to be lucky than pretty." - Не родись красивой, а родись счастливой.

I'd say primary meaning is
luck = удача
