I appreciate any help please. How to russian parents tell their children to Stop action?!?
перестань
прекрати
хватит
For example:
Перестань ковырять в носу. - Stop picking your nose.
"перестань" and "прекрати" are pretty much the same and mean "stop", "хватит" literally means "enough(of)'"
What about стоп? :)
All the stop signs in Odessa said стоп.
Also Mirage sings the following:
Я кричу тебе "Останься!"
Cool! Thanks Friendly! Kwatts, too when I typed "stop" into a translator it came back as стоп. (?)
I always thought it was "останавливать". It that way off?
Перестать means to stop doing something.
Останавливать/остановить means to stop a person or thing.
Останься -- stay, do not leaveQuote:

Хорош реветь! = Stop the crying!

I always thought that booger meant "snot of solid consistancy" wheras snot meant "snot of fluid or slimy consistancy"Quote:

Final curiosity, would "перестань съешьте в козявка!" translate correctly to "stop eating your booger!"?
