Thread: He's ambitious enough to become president.

How would you say this??? Here's my attempt....

Он так честолюбив, что может стать президентом.

but, judging by the English phrase, you should say better - Он вполне (or достаточно) честолюбив(амбициозен), чтобы стать президентом.
you can say also Он так честолюбив, что мог бы стать президентом.
...,that he could become a president.
also Он так честолюбив, что мог бы быть президентом - he could be, he might be (perhaps - can I say he might be in such cases?)

Он так честолюбив, что может стать президентом is He is so ambitious, that he can become a president.

I'd stick with "could". I think it's because you're describing his abilities/capabilities - as in, "he's so smart, he could get a master's degree".
If you use "might", you have to change the sentence - "he might get a master's degree," meaning it's just a possibility. "Might" doesn't say anything about his character or abilities, while "could" does. Hope that helps...
