The phrase is very context dependent.

Вчера у друга был день рожденья и мы его отметили в бане. Нормально так посидели. У меня до сих пор голова болит. - You can translate it as kinda "we had good time", but the real meaning is "we had got drunk" or "we had spent long time together" or "we had spent too much money".

It is an absolutely normal phrase "Чёрт! Посмотри на часы. Нормально мы поговорили."
