    film words please

ok i was watching особенности национальной охоты and i heard some words i couldent find, as a result i'm now very annoyed.
ok firstly they said a word which sounded just like милковат - milkаvat, i failed to find it and then they said it another 3 times, thus tripiling my anger.

next is суболоч - subolach and finally when the генерал was making a toast he said something like за справитливость - spravitlivost

    Предложения есть?
"Нельзя запретить человеку сделать себе большую куклу из воска и целовать её."

Oh, I looooooove this movie, very nice!

The first word is мелковат. It means "too small" (comes from word "мелкий" — small). Sentense "этот медведь мелковат" means "this bear is too small". The word has masculine (мелковат), feminine (мелковата), neutral (мелковато) and plural (мелковаты) forms.

The second one is "сволочь" I'm not sure it has English translation (exact) so I can just explain the sense. It means just "bad man" that have done something bad to you. For example, if someone kicked you, you can call him "сволочь" This word was applyed to the bear when it bit a man, was it?

The toast is "за справедливость!" — "to/for fairness" (?) At least my dictionary gives that translation.

    I'll translate "Cправедливость" as "Justice".

Насчет "сволочи" - это посильней, чем "плохой мужчина" - bad man.
    Это типа "scum" or "swine"

"bastard" would be an acceptable translation for SVOLOCH, when used properly, i.e. not used to describe an illegitemate person, but to describe someone who carves you up on the motoway, etc.

Yes, you're right! Today I saw American film when one man called other "bastard". It was the situation when I would use "сволочь".

By the way, "to carve up" is English idiom for dangerous car's maneuver? If so, in Russian we use for it a word with the same root "подрезать". Just interesting.

In American it is called "cutting somebody off."
