I have a female black lab named Blackberry. What is the Russian word for blackberry that I could call her?

Do you mean this berry which looks like a black raspberries? If so, it's "ежевика". But it's not a russian female name

Are you going to rename your dog each time you start to learn a new language?
I hope no (that would be too much of a stress for the poor thing ).
Besides, as Gerty said, ежевика is never used as a name in Russian (at least for a dog).
But you can use a diminuative form to caress(?) your pet, like, "Ежевичка ты моя!" (Oh you my little blackberry!)

Btw, my Lingvo says "blackberry" can also mean "черная смородина" (black-currant) in some dialects.

А черника -- это, оказывается, bilberry. Надо же...
