My sister-in-law and I are in a kind of comical situation. I pay her to go to college...because my wife wants to do that, but I ask her to do work for me in exchange.
Basically I ask her to write news stories in Russian, for a RSS feed, which Russian language students could then use for learning Russian Grammar.
The comical part of it, is I speak Russian at about a 1 year student level, and she speaks English at about a 2 year student level...and we try to talk with each other and be understood on complex subjects, and neither one of us knows how to speak simply.
Well, here is my attempt....basically what I'm trying to tell her is to DIAGRAM every sentence that she does for the news story (and I don't even know how to say DIAGRAM in russian, but I have, in a previous letter also asked her to write out the case and form for each word of her story...which is necessary background information to understand this new letter)...I asked her to do this, because I figured if she has to diagram every sentence, that will force her, at a minimum to use sentences that can be easily diagrammed. And that will make them simpler for a learner to understand. I'm aiming squarely at beginning students of Russian grammar, as the readers for my news feed.
Well, I'm 'eating my own dogfood'...I figure I will send her simpler English, if I write the letter in Russian first. So...while I wrote this with the intention of only sending the English version...I wrote it in Russian, and would appreciate any help you may have, concerning my mistakes.
WHEW, confusing? It's making my head spin...lol
Я понимаю твою историю. Но, ты можешь написать историю лучше. Про неё трудно говорить просто, хочется использовать только общие морфологические характеристики .
Когда я написал тебе это письмо, я также написал это на русском языке. Мой английский язык очень хорош, который был бы трудным для ученика понять. Однако, потому что мой русский язык прост, теперь мой английский язык прост.
Трудно сказать морфологические характеристики каждого слова. Трудности сделают твою историю просто
Спасибо,
Роберт.

I understand your story. But, you can write the story better. It is difficult to speak simply, to use only common grammar cases.
When I wrote you this letter, I also wrote it in Russian. My English is very good, which would be difficult for a student to understand. However, because my Russian is simple, now my English is simple.
It is difficult to say the morphological characteristics of each word. Difficulties will make your story simple.
Thank you,
Robert
