Я остановился и размечтался: если, например, толкнуть самого крайнего в спину, он упал бы на предыдущего, тот на последующего, и вся очередь в течение минуты легла бы ниц с таким звоном, будто кто провел пальцем по гребенке.

I stoped and started thinking: "What if, say, somebody pushs the last person in the line and he will fall on the next one, the next one - on the one after him, and that one - on the next, so in a minute the whole line will have layed face down with such jingle - like if you run your finger over a comb ".

Probably you don't need the word "after"
"... he will fall on the next one, then the next, then the next..."

But you translation was perfectly understandable.

Thanks, Kalinka! Have a question though: why did you choose the word "sound" for "звон"? after all jingle is a sound!

Well someone reading that would probably think of "jingle" as a catchy slogan. Also, a jingle implies a metallic sound.
