The phrase can be misunderstood (it looks like you're talking about the population of the whole archipelago). If you want to say that there are 45 000 inhabitants in Langkawi along, you may change the word order a little: "Остров Лангкави с населением в 45 000 человек является крупнейшим островом архипелага".

True. Maybe "land" and "coffee"? Still it's unclear. You need to elaborate here.

Yes, Malaysia is a country comprising of the Peninsula, connected to Thailand, with 11 states. The other 2 states are Sabah & Sarawak on the island of Borneo.

Actually I meant to refer to the whole archipelago as there are only 2 inhabited islands. And the inhabitants are mostly all on the main island. The other insland, though inhabited has very few people.
