Nokia.I am not a gossiper. Neither do I entertain gossip. So I pay as I go. Besides, it has already been 6 months, I just had spent 15 dollars for those six months. I only use it during emergency. Otherwise, I am reading.

I'm the only guy who has no phone. Just like always!

Heartfelty, you are a genius. I wish I could do so and have your level of control.

But when I had a cellphone, I was getting about 15 calls a day.. and 14 of them I did not need. For me it's always family who will call, they insist and will get offended if they can't talk.. I'm sure I'll get one again soon. But it's been nice not to have this little ball-and-chain.. (except for one big thing - vKontakte. Hard to get in with them without one, though I've tried)

It'd be really interesting to see what cell phone the OP has (given what I've learned of her so far).

As for mine, it's iPhone 4 Black 16 GB. I was going to replace it with a 4S one, but then decided to wait for iPhone 5 to be released, it's gonna be so cute with this new A6 CPU.

HTC Wildfire, Android-based. For me it's Linux or nothing.

    Nokia N8

4 Map-Navigation related apps: Nokia maps (map preloading for offline work overboard, free voice navigation), Yandex maps (realtime traffic jams), Google maps (if first two would ever have some problems), 2Gis (Novosibirsk map + full preloaded Yellowpages database).
    Opera Mobile for MasterRussian access
    12 Mpx camera.
and finally pre-installed Shazam service as a bonus.
So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish

Interesting! It seems you made really good use of your mobile.

For me, the most useful app is the map, and internet access.
    I use Android on a Galaxy s2.

I am going to install "Ankidroid" a language study software over the weekend. Robin, check it out!

What are you trying to say?

PS - what Nokia phone is it that has Windows on it? Is it the one that CoffeeCup has?

Nokia smartphones work on Symbian OS
Windows mobile supported by many vendors(Pocket PC phones), for example HTC makes phones which work on Windows Mobile - http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_hd2-2957.php

I got it from work and I could choose between that, iphone or HTC. I simply took the one that has the biggest screen which happened to be the Samsung.
I am not fussed about mobile phones whatsoever, I see it as necessary evil.

My "Noka N8" has Symbian v3, the only Nokia with "Windows Phone" is "Nokia Lumia".

By the way, Samsung released smartphones with quite a number of OSs (Samsung-bada, Windows, Android, Symbian) as well as SonyEricsson (the only exception for SonyEricsson is that they never used samsung-bada).

I'm a bit disappointed by myself, cause my judgment was wrong
I thought you chose it because it's new and fun and fast and it's a smartphone. You seem to be a person who likes to try new stuff(language learner, traveler) and you use Internet a lot (using 3G in some God forgotten village on a train stop) thus this model suites you perfectly. I also thought that your pick would be iPhone (for the reasons that I'm not going to tell)

Anyway, how come that you are in the middle of all discussions, Hanna You seem to be the most inspiring person here

My phone is SonyEricsson P1i. It is old. But I don't like to buy new stuff when old is working. And before it I had P910i (But I have broken it into pieces. )

I don't use any learning software or material. I simply can't work with that.

But if you connect your mobile to your WLAN at home you might want to check out AirDroid. It allows you to communicate with your mobile from your PC wirelessly, you can copy data to and fro, make backups of your apps to the computer, write SMS from the computer etc.

I have an iPhone 4S. I can talk with my family on Facetime for free. Video calls, FREE! I check stock prices, read the news, browse Master Russian and even watch football games. Sometimes I chat with Siri and she talks back. (and I hear she's learning Russian too.) I love you iPhone..
